Woolly Adelgid is an aphid-like insect that is a serious pest of our native Eastern Hemlock, Tsuga Canadensis, and its cultivars. Adelgids need to be controlled as this insect spreads easily and rapidly and, if left untreated, can kill a mature hemlock in 4 – 10 years.

While leaf yellowing, chlorosis, may be a signal that there is a problem that requires attention, it may also be normal.  Chlorosis is the scientific word used to indicate the full or partial yellowing of plant leaves or stems and simply means that chlorophyll is breaking down.
